after that, i will drive back to chicago in a rented car and stay until tuesday. maybe stop through madison. or milwaukee.
usually these places do not bring to mind major life change, turning point decision-making, or anything more than whether or not 'milwaukee's best' is indeed that and a marginally whimsical interest in what the dells might be like -- but true to form, this weekend will prove to be a fairly significant turning point.
i find myself at the end of my summer teaching term with no real solid full-time prospects in site and the starting day of school looming ever closer. beyond that, my only remaining roommate with whom i have grown very close with both personally and professionally, is taking an amazing job to work this gig in sonoma county and packing up to move out by the end of the month.
as such, i too will be looking for a new home. and work. easy enough to figure out in 2 1/2 weeks, right?
options are very day to day at this point, but of all things, the week i return from green bay, wisconsin will be one of the most telling of my young adult life.
i'm not even sure i know what to make of this.
i guess i could apply to a cheese factory while i'm up there.
wish me luck.
